Dark Tones

Who remembers the book “Color Me Beautiful” from way back when?  I think the book has been updated and republished in recent years, but I still remember stealing it from my mom’s bookshelf back in the 90’s and reading up on ways to “enhance my natural beauty” by choosing makeup and clothing in complimenting skin tone colors. At this point in my life, I have no idea what color “season” I am and I don’t really pay attention to what colors work best for me – I just know what I like and what makes me feel good when I wear it.  Today, I’m embracing dark winter tones in my navy and eggplant ensemble.  My only issue with dark tones of late is that my lovely greyhound loves to rub up against her mommy and leave me covered in fur before I’m headed out the door.  Thank goodness for a lint roller!

Do you have a favorite color or color combo this season?

I have heard about that book. I would love to have the newest version. A Favorite color combo this Winter would be Burgundy with Black+White, Burgundy with Navy or with Teal. I am also loving Grays and Red with Tan/Beige. Your ensemble is lovely. You have been rocking patterned tights lately.

I cannot wait to find your news too (that you hinted about, on my blog, some days ago). Have a Great Weekend!! Ada. =)

Dark colours are beautiful on you! I've no idea what colour season I am either, I just wear what I like also :)

Love the bold statement necklace against the dark shirt :)

I seem to remember Color Me Beautiful putting my best friend's mom in colors that made her look kind of washed out and pale. She subsequently looked back on pictures of herself from then and called it her "Color Me Undead" phase.

Anyway, I'm totally feeling your palette here! Your season is Awesome.
